Apollo College To Open New College In Reno
Reno, Nevada -- May 20, 2009 -- Apollo College announced the opening of its newest location at 5580 Kietzke Lane in Reno. Applications are currently being accepted for the registered nursing program at the Reno location.
Classes are scheduled to begin in July, but are expected to fill quickly. Graduates of the nursing degree program will earn an Associate of Science degree in Nursing and will be qualified to sit for the NCLEX-RN exam.
The nursing program will be overseen by Dr. Mary Love who has been a nurse and nurse educator in the Reno area for more than 25 years.
“There is a critical shortage of nurses in Nevada,” said Dr. Love, director of nursing. “According to a recent hospital perspective presented by Bill Welch, president and CEO of the Nevada Hospital Association, Nevada ranked 50th in the U.S. in nurses per capita. At Apollo College, we have developed a program to prepare students for a rewarding career in nursing, as well as serve the growing needs of the public at large.
